I found this experience of mine on POF to be the same old story every time. I'll get a few emails a day from women I'm mostly not interested in whatsoever. Either they have children (which I clearly state I'm not interested in) or they absolutely look like they don't take care of themselves or their bodies. I have yet to meet someone in person from POF, like I have on other sites. Whenever an interesting, amusing or engaging conversation arises, it always dwindles down to nothing. Women overall, don't know when to take the ball when it is bounced to them. I simply cannot continue to dominate the conversation forever. Asking questions is always a plus, but it still doesn't work. Most of the time, I become quite disinterested and move on. Other times, my back and forth email eventually won't be answered or it will be accidentally deleted. I know this happens. My sister signed up, who is also in her late 20s and she was overwhelmed. She joked with me that she had one day received over 200 emails and she simply could not keep up with them. Every time she found a respectable email to respond to, 17 more would flow into her inbox. Because of these gender discrepancies in approach, women simply do not want to put forth the effort to keep in contact with genuine men. I do not email women anymore for this reason. I always wait to receive first. Overall, my opinion is that traditional ways of meeting people at social functions and events is the best way to go. When you talk to a woman in person, there aren't 200 other men at the same time, blurting out lewd, sexual remarks or trying to be the next big romance novelist. Until the dating game approach is evened out in time and traditional methods are dissolved, this online method of meeting people will always be faulty at best. Good luck to everyone. =]
