A lot of winks leads to nothing!

I would like to weight my experiences on this one. Since DH is free, most of the people on there aren't taking the site seriously. As a guy, most of the women aren't serious about dating on there. I have found most people are only interested in playing around on DH. People on DH treat it as a popularity contest or use the site as an ego boost. On there for entertainment purposes. The most attractive women on DH treat it as a beauty pageant. I've gotten winks from women and I've wrote back to strike up a conversation only to be ignored or have gotten some rude, insincere, half a$$ed reply. There have been times when I reponded to their winks, they fall off the face of the planet by deleting their profiles by playing stupid or you can't access their profile when they have it marked for friends only. In other words, they're playing games and playing with your head.....mind games. The site is meant for the 20 something crowd that aren't serious about commitment or relationships. They're playing the field and are only into random flings and quick hookups. DH is a waste of time. You won't find someone looking for a steady relationship, let alone a soulmate if such a person exists. Maybe we're just pursuing someone that only exists in our imaginations. Then again I digress.....

Yes, same experience. I'd write a message and if I did receive a reply, it was rather cryptic and meaningless.
I'm convinced it's a popularity contest, with many of these women just there to boost their self-esteem.
We'd agree to chat on yahoo or msn messenger, and while I had sent an instant message, I would never hear back from her again.
My picture(s) are good too and for a good looking guy to be treated in such a manner, I'm lead to believe these women are just killing time. Needless to say, it makes me scratch my head and wonder if many of these women are actually spam bots, harvesting emails and such.

Don't bother with any of these dating sites. Generally a waste of time seeking anything of substance. It would feel more rewarding to watch paint dry.

I've found out the same thing with women how 5'10 actually means 5'8 or with age how 41 means 45. Women have been known to exaggerate their height or make themselves younger than they really are. It's amazing how people on DH use such bait and switch tactics. The men are no better. You have a lot of old, fat, balding guys that are looking for Barbie when they themselves are no Ken. Not even close. It's funny how shallow men can be. Men like that need a reality check and have no sense of self awareness. The only time these men will get a young hottie is during the period between asleep and awake: In their wet dreams. People tend to date in their age group and women like that wouldn't be interested in some old, fat, balding loser. Unless those type of men are wealthy and she's a gold digger. Then I could see some potential.But what do you expect from a free site? I rest my case.
