Who cares really

Because POF is driven by ad revenue, it's missing a decent toolset for dating purposes. That burns up alot of your time. It also adds to everyones frustration as well.

POF has all the problems you will see on any dating site, but certainly a higher precentage.

Because there is no real motivation for women on the site to "make a decision", you will have to be a better than average carch for any women you email to get a response.

Ultimately POF is just a crappy social network maskerading as a dating site.

If you treat it as a social network rather than a dating site, you'll likely do better.

To do relatively well on POF a guy would need to be at least a 7/10 (overall). Less than that it's a fair amount of work.

In any case POF will burn up fair amoount of time. You're likely much better off spending that 1-3 hours per week, just going outside.

Like all dating sites and social networking sites PlentyOfFish is designed to make money. Free sites that display ads want the users on the site as long as possible so they can see as many ads as possible. Case in point, the owner of PlentyofFish did a test, he removed the instant messenger from his site and he found that this meant users where required to use the mail system much more which got him more page views. He didn't care that his users like to use the instant messenger, he just decided to completely remove it so he could get more money from the ads he sells.
